Why do I need two Kraken API keys?

Kraken uses separate API credentials for spot and futures. If you trade both, connect both keys so TradeChainly can sync both parts of your trading history.

Only some of my Kraken trades imported. What should I check?

A common reason is that only one Kraken product is connected. If you trade both spot and futures, check that you have added both API keys.

Does TradeChainly support Kraken Futures?

Yes. Connect a Kraken Futures API key with General API set to Read Only and Withdrawal API set to No access.

Establishing Connection

Log in to your Kraken Pro account, click on the profile button in the top-right corner, then go to Settings and select the Connections & API tab.

Note that you need separate API Keys and Secret Keys for Spot and Futures trading.

For Spot trading: Under Spot trading API, click Create API key. Then, enter a name for your API key. In the Orders and trades column, select only the Query open orders & trades and Query closed orders & trades options. Leave the other options as default, then click Generate key.

For Futures trading: Under Futures trading API, click Create API key. In the General API column, select Read Only, and in the Withdrawal API section, select No access. Click Generate key.

Copy your API Key and API Secret here.

Click on Sync.

Spot File Upload

In the top-right corner, click on your profile picture button and select Statements.

Click the Export statement button.

From the dropdown, select Trades, under Start and end date choose your time period, leave the Select pair to All and leave the Fields to All.

Set the Format to CSV (important).

Click on Export, wait a few seconds, and in the On-demand statements section, you will see your export. Click on the Download button on the right side.

Futures File Upload

In the top-right corner, click on your profile picture button and select Statements.

Click the Export statement button.

From the dropdown, select Ledger, then choose the Futures tab.

Make sure the Format is set to CSV (important).

Click on Export, wait a few seconds, the file will be automatically downloaded.
